During spring the endangered turtle sub-species Cajreiia Careiia set off for Zante from the Libyan Sea and the<br \/>southern Adriatic.<br \/>This is where the rare Caretia Caretia sea turtles lay their eggs in the sands of Gerakas, Dafni, Kalamaki, Marathonisi and, especially, Sakania, east of Laganas, as they always have. If you\u2019re lucky<br \/>enough to witness this spectacle, please don\u2019t disturb!<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Sights of Zante.<\/strong><\/p><div class=\"cmsmasters_text\"><ul><li>Shipwreck Beach<\/li><li>Laganas, Gerakas beaches<\/li><li>Vasilikos,<\/li><li>Marathonisi island<\/li><li>the Blue Caves<\/li><\/ul><p>all rank among the most splendid in Greece.<\/p><p>Zante is not only beaches. Take a stroll through lovely Bochali, 2km from the centre of town, and you\u2019ll find yourself stopping every few minutes to admire the panoramic view of the harbour, Argassi and the Bay of Laganas.<\/p><ul><li>Solomeos Square The bust of D. Solomos national poet of Greece dominates in the centre.
